Leah founded Opera Susquehanna in 2016 after living and performing in Europe for two years, and singing opera across the United States since 2007. In love with the way opera enriches the community, her vision is to create meaningful social change in the Susquehanna Valley. She mentors young performers and arts executives with her example of team building and innovation.
Carlo Emilio Matteo Mangialetto
Artistic Director and Board President
Carlo believes in the power of opera to transcend the difficulties and tensions of this world by telling stories with music and poetry. With its rich harmonies and sweeping melodies, opera captivates the soul and the mind. With opera, we change culture from the inside out. Among other career successes, Carlo has served as rehearsal pianist for many ballet companies across the east coast. He is thrilled to join Opera Susquehanna as an artistic leader, conductor, accompanist, and advocate!
Vice President of the Board
Rob is an accomplished baritone, voice teacher, stage director, administrator, and staple of the York music and theater scene. His students perform regularly in the region, and beyond. He is excited to join Opera Susquehanna as Vice President in bringing quality operatic theater to the region.
Advisory Committee Leader
Wearing many hats throughout her career, Nadine Benjamin has been an extremely successful stocks trader, business and mindset coach, the CEO of an opera company, and internationally recognized soprano. Acting as a mentor and advisor to many career opera performers and business people, she joins us as head of our advisory committee and leadership model. She is a true portfolio artist and business woman, and we are extremely luck to have her!
Director of Community Resources
Calvin is a power house of innovation and artistic creation. The owner and CEO of Weary Arts group, as well as the board president for the Parliament Arts Organization, his Mission is to provide a creative network, comprised of artists of all ages, and cultivating a desire and passion to share the arts in the communities that he serves.
Director of Education
Paulino is a music educator, pianist, music director, and dedicated community member. Pianist and teacher at The Appell Center for the Performing Arts in York, the Fulton Theater in Lancaster, The Linden Hall School in Lilitz, and Vida Charter School in Gettysburg, he is a respected and valued member of the arts community in South Central PA.
Claudia is a Public Health Program Administrator at Pennsylvania Department of Health. A lover of theatrical music and community, she is thrilled to help Opera Susquehanna in this role.
